The Gait Rehabilitation and Research Lab is a multidisciplinary organization of Physical therapists, engineers, biomechanists and scientists working together to advance scientific knowledge on rehabilitation in the field of human movement.
Some of the systems being used in our facilities are: an AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill, a Biodex System 4 Pro Dynomometer, Cortex, and Neurocams. These tools are engineering a method of measuring, evaluating, and understanding human movement.
A BRIGHTER TOMORROW
The methods used in the laboratory are being used to engineer therapy in order to improve the quality of life for our patients.
Internal Funding - Chapman University
Kay Family Foundation/CHOC
More external funding is expected soon.
PT511: Biomechanics of Human Movement
Section 1: Wednesdays 8:00-10:15 AM
PT511L: Biomechanics of Human Movement Laboratory
Section 2: Thursday 10:30-12:45 PM
The laboratory course on applied human bio-mechanics builds upon requisite coursework to provide a strong foundation in applied functional bio-mechanics for the DPT student. Interactive laboratory sessions require students to think critically as they apply their knowledge.
